What type of Projects are Considered?
Funding is reserved for new projects which qualify as Canadian Content according to the guidelines set out by the CRTC. Awards are not granted to works in progress.
The copyright is retained by the awardee, while bravo and its affiliated companies shall have the right of first broadcast and thereafter non-exclusive media rights worldwide, in perpetuity. In addition, bravo shall have the first right to future series development for a period of up to one year following the delivery of the short for broadcast.
The desired length and format of requested Project Applications will be posted in advance of each deadline for submission.
Standard running times of 7:30 will be considered, unless otherwise announced.
Funding is awarded on the basis of merit. The criteria include compelling storytelling, appropriateness for television broadcast, and feasibility of production.
The jury evaluates the synopsis, storyboard, technical treatment, budget, resumes, and demo reels. Music, literary and/or stock footage rights for non-exclusive media rights, in perpetuity and worldwide, must be secured for all bravoFACT shorts.

In order to be considered, a complete bravoFACT Application Form must be submitted, together with all submission support material, to the bravoFACT office by 5 p.m. ET on the day of the deadline. Our mailing address is:
