Karen Harnisch

Karen Harnisch is a producer, director and editor based in Toronto.

Drawn to filmmaking by a desire to collaborate on thoughtful, director-driven projects, Karen began her career in post-production as an assistant editor on the

PBS series On Record: The Soundtrack of her Lives and as post-production supervisor on the feature documentary A People Uncounted, which debuted at the Montreal World Film Festival to acclaim in August 2011.

Works she has produced have been screened internationally at festivals in Singapore, Spain, Italy and the USA.

Karen is interested in exploring the relationships between characters and the environments they inhabit, family dynamics, siblinghood and coming of age. She holds a BFA with Honours in Film from Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts.
