Peter Hudecki is a 35-year animation industry veteran having fulfilled multiple duties including those of Director and Producer.
Early experience includes animation for such studios as Hanna-Barbera, Grafilm and Nelvana Ltd. While at Nelvana, he fulfilled several creative and production roles on several broadcast series and theatrical features including the director of the multiple award winning animated series The Adventures of Tintin. Peter introduced and nurtured Nelvana into the digital age, setting up their first digital ink and paint system while directing Stickin’ Around. Peter was instrumental in the creation and operation of Nelvana’s 3D division and the Emmy award winning Rolie Polie Olie. Peter has extensive experience in the commercial industry directing and producing numerous animated television ads. A specialist in facial animation and lip sync, he provided principle animation for a recent Bud Light Superbowl spot “Smooth Monkey.” As well, Peter is one of Canada’s premier live action storyboard artists having worked on projects with directors ranging from Martin Ritt to former Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President, Frank Pierson. Film titles include The Freshman, Bless the Child, and Searching for Bobby Fischer, among others. He also directed, animated and edited the short film Love Struck.
Peter continues to lend his expertise to animation production when requested for studios in such diverse locations as Brazil, France and Mongolia. He is part of the Faculty of Durham College as senior instructor of Animation but continues to be active in the production community, from creating facial animation for AXYZ FX, to writing, voice directing and creative consulting with Yowza Animation.
