Chris Hanratty is a Toronto-based writer and director. His most recent short films, Family First and Rung, have screened at festivals including the CFC’s Worldwide Short Film Fest and the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Hanratty has spent many years working as an actor, writer, and director in theatre. As a theatre director, his credits include The Red Machine: Part One (Toronto Fringe) and Part Two (Summerworks), Don’t Wake Me (Summerworks & Next Stage) and The Tin Drum: Book One (Equity Showcase). He is the Artistic Director of the award-winning UnSpun Theatre company, where he co-created and directed One Block as part of Harbourfront Centre’s HATCH program. He is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s Drama and Film Studies program.
